Meal Plans

What Meal Plans do you offer?

We offer a variety of meal plans to meet your on campus dining needs. Check out our Meal Plan page for a full list of offerings.

What type of Meal Plan is recommended?

We have a variety of meal plans to meet your needs! Depending on your class year, where you live, and how much you are on campus, our recommendations may vary. Be sure to use our filter and sort functions to help choose your plan. If you still need help choosing a plan, give us a call at 214-768-2367 or email us dining@smu.edu.

How can I purchase a Meal Plan?

If you are a resident, you can purchase your meal plan by selecting it at the time of your housing application. If you are living off-campus, please contact or visit the Parking and ID Card Services office located in Expressway Tower to sign up for your plan.

Are Meal Plans required?

All first and second year residential students are required to purchase the All-Access 7. Residential students who are juniors and above may choose from plans All Access 7, Block 250, or Block 125. Residential students who are seniors and all commuters may choose from any plan.

What are Flex Dollars?

Students on a meal plan may add additional Flex Dollars to your account by contacting idcard@smu.edu or visiting the Parking and ID Card Services office located in Expressway Tower. Students who do not have a meal plan are also able to purchase Flex Dollars at a discounted rate.

How do I get Flex Dollars?

Flex Dollars are an exclusive offer for meal plan holders only. You may add additional Flex Dollars to your account by contacting us at dining@smu.edu or visiting the Parking and ID Card Services office located in Expressway Tower.

What if I want to change my Meal Plan?

Meal Plan change requests must be submitted to the Parking and ID Card Services Office by the last day of the university's add/drop date.

How do I get into the dining locations once I have purchased my Meal Plan?

Within 24 hours, your Student ID card will be activated with your meal plan. Present your card to the cashier in the dining hall, and you are all set!

Can I carry meals over to the next semester?

No, all meals expire at the end of the semester.

Can I treat a friend to a meal?

All meal plan holders are allowed to bring guests, provided members are present at the time of transaction. Guests (up to 10 per semester) for meal plans: All Access 7, Block 250, and Block 125 are admitted by accessing membership guest access swipes. Guests of members on the Block 50 are admitted by paying the door entry rate per guests from the member's flex Dollars amount.

What do I do when my Flex Dollars gets low?

You can reload your Flex Dollars at any time! E-mail idcard@smu.edu with your name, student ID number, and add-on amount or simply visit the Parking and ID Card Services office located in Expressway Tower.
